Abstract

By the end of 2023, 117.3 million people were forcibly displaced worldwide. In Brazil, 77,193individuals were recognized as refugees, 47.6% of whom were women. This study presents astate of knowledge (2019–2024) on the relationship between immigrant women and schooling inBrazilian academic research. From 55 theses and dissertations identified in the BDTD (Brazilianlibrary of theses and dissertations). Findings reveal a lack of studies addressing adult immigrantwomen’s educational experiences. The study highlights research gaps and suggests futureinvestigations focused on women’s narratives, binational trajectories, local educational policies, and inclusive practices in schools.
