Abstract

In recent years, debates on Rural Education and its related social movements have intensifiedamidst rising socioeconomic and educational inequalities. Historically, this education wasshaped by the absence of public policies or by pedagogical ruralism. Despite programsemerging from rural struggles, challenges remain, including the threat of dismantling and hybridpolicies that move away from the core principles of Rural Education. Thus, it is essential tocontinue the political struggle and expand the debate, aiming at public policies committed tosocial justice, a specific education for rural populations, and the construction of an emancipatoryeducational project.
