Abstract

This paper aims to analyze ethnic education in China and the Quotas Law in Brazil. The studyreviewed the literature and compared these two processes. To this end, we relied on theliterature on the subject, with a documentary survey of legislation, ordinances, and otherregulations that guided the processes in both countries. Studies conducted by authors such asPastorini (1997) and Paixão (2000) highlight the gap between public policies and theeffectiveness of rights. Thus, this paper aims to contribute to the debate by exploring howaffirmative action policies were implemented in both countries.
