Abstract

The project Poetizing Cultural Heritage – Stories and Verses in School aimed to promoteheritage education through poetry, using haiku and drawing as pedagogical tools to engagestudents with local history. The goal was to raise students' awareness of the importance ofhistorical heritage. The methodology involved a heritage education and poetry teachingworkshop at a local school, with 5th-grade students. The results demonstrate the potential ofpoetry as a tool for heritage education, fostering student engagement and allowing thedevelopment of emotional connections with local heritage.
