Abstract

This paper aims to discuss: How can the use of literary language help to bring young peoplecloser to reading and the subject of books, as well as promote discussion about ethnic-racialrelations in the teaching of Geography? We will use the children's book Histórias da Preta, 2005edition, by the writer Heloisa Pires Lima. Our objectives are to discuss the importance ofworking on Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture in the teaching of Geography,collaborating with an anti-racist education and with the responsible and committedimplementation of Law n. 10.639/2003.
