Jovens Ciganos e Educação: um campo científico invisibilizado ou uma cultura invisibilizada?

This work presents partial results of a doctoral thesis on Roma youth, culture, and education.Based on a qualitative and documentary approach, academic productions from the BrazilianDigital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and data from the 2024 School Census wereanalyzed, focusing on students in itinerant situations. A significant gap was identified in thescientific literature on Roma youth, as well as the absence of specific data in official educationalrecords. It is concluded that there is a process of invisibilization of these subjects, highlightingthe need to expand research on schooling and Roma culture in Brazil.
