The Between Memories and Cerrado project proposes a heritage education initiative centeredon the letters of Bernardo Élis, preserved in the collection of the Bernardo Élis Cultural Institute(ICEBE). The project aims to highlight these letters as cultural assets that reveal historical,social, and cultural transformations in the state of Goiás. By fostering interaction betweenmemory and history, it encourages critical reflection on local heritage. Drawing on theorists suchas Chuva, Florêncio, Scifoni, Tolentino, and Nora, the project emphasizes the importance ofpreservation and educational mediation in shaping understandings of the past and local identity.
