Understanding the importance of textbooks in schools, the article discusses the advancement of
ethnic-racial themes in Geography textbooks, especially books used in schools in the state of
Goiás, with a focus on the city of Goiânia. The methodology used is qualitative in nature,
anchored in the documentary analysis of textbooks for the final years of elementary
school/BNCC/DCGO and PNLD, in addition to the bibliographic review of articles, theses and
dissertations that debate the theme of ethnic-racial relations in the teaching of Geography
