Abstract

This research aims to present the paths taken by the native peoples for the emergence ofindigenous school education in the State of Ceará, the origins of differentiated schooling andintercultural education.It is understood that indigenous education has always existed, based on: culture, ancestry,among other cultural aspects. Based on this scenario, the following central question is posed:what paths were taken in this resistance struggle so that a school designed by the nativepeoples could exist, one that rescues and preserves their identity?The research is characterized as bibliographical and qualitative. Review the works of Freire(2004), Muduruku (2012) and Krenak (2019) were revisited, in addition to governmentdocuments.In this way, the results point to many discoveries, in addition to numerous challenges for therecognition of indigenous identity or identities based on indigenous school education in Ceará.
