Dilúvio vermelho, lembranças da enchente que engoliu o patrimônio da cidade de Goiás

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the memories of the flooding of the Vermelho River in the city ofGoiás, in 2001. It examines the environmental catastrophe as a lasting phenomenon in thecollective memory, which, by attributing responsibility for the tragedy to the river, the guidingthread of the patrimonial losses (houses, streets, bridges and identity signs), obliterated thehuman in the process. The attribute of the dramatic tensioned in the human is problematized.The methodology is based on the bibliographic study and oral interviews conducted with theresidents.
