Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between John Dewey's pedagogy and contemporary activemethodologies through a critical and reflective approach based on the categories of dialecticsand contradiction. The qualitative and bibliographical research shows that Dewey's ideas are atthe root of many current pedagogical innovations and discusses two aspects: the absence of adialectical approach and mistakes that can result in mechanistic practices.
