Abstract

This article reflects on educational purposes and their necessary relationship with pedagogical theories and their respective pedagogies, based mainly on the elaborations of Dermeval Saviani. The text seeks to show how the bourgeois class used theories to compose and recompose its hegemony and also that access to education and critical and emancipated knowledge of the working class is possible through a counter-hegemonic pedagogy such as Historical Pedagogy-Criticism. It highlights the importance of knowing the nexus between educational purposes and pedagogical means as a need not only epistemological, but, above all, political, since education has served the interests of the ruling class in an increasingly less disguised and increasingly blatant way in relation to the working class.
