This article seeks to analyze how to overcome the challenges of indigenous school education which, despite being a right provided for by law, is not effectively practiced. To this end, initially an analysis of indigenous school education in the Brazilian historical context is carried out, since the arrival of the Portuguese, until the current period, post-Constitution of 1988. Subsequently, an analysis of advances and setbacks in Brazilian indigenous education was carried out, together with with the necessary interculturality that permeates these relationships. Finally, the challenges of indigenous school education were in fact analyzed, where the conclusion was reached that it is necessary to deconstruct prejudices and discrimination, reconstruct indigenous cultural values, rescue processes of construction of cultural identities and interaction between individuals from different cultures, so that they can be provided with a quality and inclusive education.
