The training of the professional Translator-Interpreter of Libras and Portuguese Language (TILSP): a trajectory of investments and devaluation

Abstract

Socially, the number of deaf people present in different spaces has grown and great advances have been made in order to ensure accessibility to them. However, the figure of the professional Translator-Interpreter of Libras and Portuguese Language has been consolidated since the Law n.º12.319, sanctioned in 2010, being configured as the professional responsible for participating in the process of ensuring access to communication, information and education, as emphasized by Decree n.º 5.626, enacted in 2005. For this reason, from a bibliographic study, after acquiring contents about the exercise of the professional TILSP, through the Continuing Education Extension Course of this professional, at INES and leaning over several studies (ANTONIO, MOTA & KELMAN, 2015; BELÉM, COSTA & ANTONIO, 2018; LACERDA, 2010; GIAMLOURENÇO, 2018, among others), the purpose of this paper was to reveal the historical path of TILSP, which only gained recognition as a category
