Abstract

School education in the context of the transformations of contemporary society is the result of theoretical and documentary research in progress. The article discusses historical, social, political and cultural aspects in the context of school education inserted in the context of the transformations of contemporary society. Thus, one can understand the training policies in reform scenarios relating to issues such as social inclusion, human rights and citizenship. In addition, we sought to inquire about public and democratic school education in the current context of ethnic-racial relations, social inequality and social diversity.

Professor pesquisador no Centro de Educação Popular e Pesquisas Econômicas e Sociais – CEPPES. Pós-doutorando em História, Doutor em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (2015). Mestre em Educação (2009), Bacharel e Licenciado em História pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (2001). Membro do Grupo de Pesquisa La Folie: História da Loucura. Autor do livro Vida & saber: parteiras no Alto Purus, pela Editora da Universidade Federal do Acre.
