Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the primary education manuals in Mozambique, produced since 2016, but with a greater focus on the 6th grade Social Sciences manual, by author Firoza Bicá, approved by Porto Editora for being the one with errors of content that place Mozambique in other geographic latitudes, thus compromising national sovereignty. Approach Method: The research opted for a qualitative approach, because it aims to make an exploratory study in order to interpret and understand the content errors patent in the referred manual. Research Techniques: Bibliographic and documental research was constituted as research techniques. Study Results: The study showed that the content errors are located on pages 15, 16, 48, 59 and 78. However, the most glaring content error is found on page 59, which takes Mozambique out of Southern Africa and places -o in East Africa together with other countries in the region such as Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi, which made the Government of the Republic of Mozambique, through the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH), decide to remove this book in the subsystem of primary education, with immediate effect from 2 June 2022.
